Vintage Modern
This pedal has been discontinued in 2020
The Sunless Effects Vintage Modern is a hybrid Silicon and Germanium fuzz, inspired by a classic circuit from the sixties with modern “life-improvement” features added to it.
The Vintage Modern has two 3-way switches,
the one of the left will change the characteristic of the distortion while the one on the right will allow more or less bass to hit your amplifier.
In addition to that, you can also turn down your guitar volume to clean up the signal and really get the sound you’re looking for.
Germanium transistors are known to be sensitive to temperature changes which can alter the sound of the pedal.
To remedy to that problem, the Vintage Modern features an external bias control, but it also include an LED that will light up whenever the bias is set to the most optimal setting : no more guesses, no tools needed and no need to open it to measure the bias voltage.
Of course, the bias doesn’t have to be set perfectly, under-biasing will result in a gated/sputtery sound while overbiasing it will result in a more compressed sound.
The Vintage modern, despite using germanium transistors, does not require a dedicated power supply, it runs on a regular positive 9v (negative center) power supply and therefore can be chained with any modern pedal without any issue.
The Vintage Modern is hand wired and build with carefully selected components.
True Bypass.
9vDC operation only.
All Sunless Effects pedals feature top mounted jacks and operate on 9v DC power adapter only (standard 2.1mm negative center).
Sunless Effects pedals don’t have internal battery clips and therefore require a power supply to operate.
