Cold Lands

The Sunless Effects Cold Lands is a preamp pedal that has been inspired by the Matamp GT120, an amplifier well known for Stoner and Doom music.
Just like the GT120, the Cold Lands is not only a Doom machine, with the right settings it can cover a wide range of tones, from classic rock to metal.
The depth knob allows you to change the characteristics of the saturation, turn it clockwise for a tighter tone and counter-clockwise for something more loose and fat.
The Cold Lands contains a boost converter to convert the 9v input voltage to 33v internally, which allows a smoother gain, higher headroom and also allows the Cold Lands to be loud enough to drive a power amplifier.
While it is meant to be plugged straight into the fx return of a power amplifier, you can plug it in the input of your amplifier, the tone will then be affected by your amplifier’s preamp and EQ.

Operation :

Depth : a 6 position rotary switch that let you control the amount of low frequencies being attenuated, goes from fat to gritty.
Treble & Bass : a passive Baxandall style EQ with a flat response when both controls are set at noon.
Presence : boost high frequencies.
Gain : adjusts the amount of gain, from clean to Fuzz.
Master : Sets the output volume.

The Cold Lands is hand wired and build with carefully selected components.

True Bypass.
9vDC only, the Cold Lands wont benefit from a higher voltage and it will damage the circuit.

All Sunless Effects pedals feature top mounted jacks and operate on 9v DC power adapter only (standard 2.1mm negative center).
Sunless Effects pedals don’t have internal battery clips and therefore require a power supply to operate.
